We got THE call.
We got the CALL!
We GOT the call!
WE got the call!
WE GOT THE CALL!!!!!!
The adoption rollercoaster has many twists and turns along the way. We’ve been on this rollercoaster for so long now we’re very dizzy. We’ve been told about a little girl, born January 2006 (guess we’re only allowed January babies!) and have been invited to meet her. We have accepted this invitation and are leaving July 21 for Russia. Our meeting with the committee is on Tuesday the 24th. We will meet the little one on Tuesday or Wednesday. During this trip we will be scheduled for the required battery of medical tests, exams and sessions, taking the little one for her own medical check up and deciding our fate.
During this month we also, close on a new house, continue to try to sell our old house (and keep it in “showing condition” during the chaos), and be conscientious and patient parents to two busy-bee kids who have the summer crazies. Easier said than done. Do you feel my pain (and joy)?
We are gathering all our donations and getting things packed. For those that donated clothes, thank you. These clothes will be wrapped around needy and growing children and keep them warm and happy. For those of you who donated money, thank you. This will allow the children to have what they really need, from medicine, to food; to upgrades in their living conditions (we know that one of our donations years ago made it possible for each child in Kylor’s orphanage #16 to have a bed. A bed to sleep in. Can you imagine?). They need so much. They need the basics.
When we went to meet Kylor our donations helped the children adopted after him. The same for Madeline. Everyone who travels for adoption and brings donations help the next children awaiting their families. We must continue to pass it forward in what we are calling “The Circle of Giving”. Our bags are full and overflowing. If you would like to contribute to “The Circle of Giving”, please send a check to us prior to our departure date of July 21. Thanks for helping the children in the world. They are after all, deserving of the basics.
We’ll start updating more regularly here at The Purple Folder Adventure. Check as often as you like. We look forward to updating everyone here at one time (rather than individual emails) while we are in Russia and look forward to hearing back from you all in the comments section!
It’s finally happening.
