Things learned today:
- We’ve accomplished nothing here so far
- I hate hand washing clothes (don’t even follow such directions on labels of favorite items at home!.) Would it have killed me to bring 2 more pairs of undies and 1 more shirt? But alas, I was leaving as much room as possible for orphanage clothes donations… so my heart was in the right place.
- Listen to your mother. Mine told me to buy those new travel undies that wash and dry real easy and quick. (Ma, I need underwear).
- Even Ambien won’t help me sleep here
- Sweat smells different here (TMI?)
The Folcik’s Top 10 Things to do when stuck in a Russian Hotel*:
(we’ve done six of these, you guess which)
- Pick your nose
- Eat a can of tuna with no mayonnaise
- Clean your wallet
- Check belly button for soap scum
- Brush up on your Russian
- Clean hotel room’s rug with tweezers
- watch the BBC station on TV and enjoy it
- Pluck unwanted body hair
- Develop and plan “B&B Investments, Inc”
- Look out the window and think, What the ?%$# am I doing here?
* Now this top 10 list may not be particularly funny to all, it has some adoption humor in it in a kind of “had to be there” kinda way.
News flash: The water is back on at our hotel! Yipee!
Ma: You are wonderful. I feel your love and support. And I want everyone to know that you are the best Mom in the world. Thank you for the long distance hugs. I feel them!
Uncle Mark: Please accept our formal invitation to accompany us on our next trip as our personal “Tour Guide”.
Auntie Bonnie: You’re a hard act to follow!
Bergen’s: We’ll call you Thursday, but don’t worry if you’re out, we’ll catch you at some point. Thanks for all you’re doing! Hope Connor got back okay.
Dad & Mom: Thanks for keeping us in your prayers. Make sure the “Aunt’s” get these updates too!

Hey you guys, Good luck tomorrow, or is it today?? We have been checking in with your saga, though I just figured out how to comment!!
I’m thinking the birthday is Jan 12.
If I had another girl we would have named her Kendyl not sure of a middle name. How about Kam for Kylor and Maddi?? Kendyl Kam… I kinda like it.
We are thinking of you lots. Safe travels. Wash those undies!!

Many of us are not sleeping well while you are there. so it was good to read more. It’s a new day full of promise. I would watch the BBC and work on my accent.
